CORE was designed to bring awareness to and address the social, emotional, mental, and health issues that impact the lives of high school students. The goal of CORE is to provide student leaders with the platform to make a positive change that will improve students' social and emotional well being, school culture, and create a more welcoming community for all.
Drawing from the field of public health, social work, psychology, and mindfulness, student leaders will examine the harsh realities of the social, emotional and health issues that impact today’s youth. Student Leaders in CORE will learn how to design and implement innovative strategies to address and cope with these issues through the facilitation of group discussions and presentations. These opportunities will help to define and enhance their leadership skills.
CORE meets every Thursday during X-block at Brookline High School in the METCO room from 11:15am-11:55am.
